Proposed Data Center Moratorium Oridinance

The City of Oglethorpe Mayor and Council proposes a Data Center Moratorium Ordinance to protect the public health, safety, and welfare while the City evaluates permanent regulations governing large-scale Datat Center developement. Temporary Moratorium - For 24 months after the effective date, the City shall not accept, process, or approve applications for annexation, rezoning, conditional or special use approval, site plan approval, land disturbance or building permits, certificate of occupancy, utility approval, water or sewer capacity reservations, etc when the principal purpose is to serve a qualifying Data Center.
